Garden Apples by Theresa Miller

Garden Apples
6" x 6" Watercolor on paper
The apples in our tree in the backyard are ready to be picked. I picked some yesterday and made apple sauce, yumm... They are only good for making apple pie and apple sauce, though... Let me know if you want some, I have lots to share!

Sunbathing Nectarines by Theresa Miller

Sunbathing Nectarines

The title says it all - nectarines sunbathing in the afternoon sun. More of the same "models" tomorrow! It's great to be back painting, I really missed it!

Wild Rose by Theresa Miller

Wild Rose
6.5" x 6.5" Watercolor on Paper
Another rose from the Botanical Gardens in Geneva. When the weather cools down, like it has in the past week or so, I love painting from the reference photos that I take during the summer. It's my way of "stretching" the season!
On a very personal note: My father-in-law passed away last weekend. He was a wonderful father-in-law to me, a great dad to David and an adoring grandpa for Alexandra. We'll miss him terribly.

Morning lilies by Theresa Miller

Morning Lilies
55cmx40cm Watercolor on Paper
I'm working on several paintings , at once, and since they are not ready for posting, I decided to post this one that I did last year. These lilies are from my garden - every spring they look glorious. This painting is larger than my usual daily painting and has been used in a previous exhibition, in Geneva. I hope you like them.

Karin Jurick's Jack by Theresa Miller

Karin's Jack
6.5" x 10" Watercolor on Paper
I was so touched by Karin Jurick's story of Jack, her dog, that I had to make a portrait of him. It was a pleasure painting Jack, my first painting of a dog!

Triple Pleasure (Strawberry Trio) by Theresa Miller

Triple Pleasure
6.5" X 6.5" Watercolor on paper
This is the first time I paint strawberries and I really enjoyed painting them. They also tasted really good - sweet and juicy. Double pleasure, I mean, triple pleasure!
It's been raining a lot since yesterday and the sky is grey, but it does not matter at all - It was a perfect day to be indoors in the company of delightful friends, wonderful wine and delicious food! Thanks for the wonderful lunch invitation and the most pleasurable afternoon!

Red wine and peaches by Theresa Miller

Red Wine and Peaches

The peaches in the orchards in my neighborhood have already been harvested - I enjoyed their ripe aroma every time I walked past them during my daily walks. Autumn is in the air!

Piramid ( tomatoes) By Theresa Miller

Piramid (tomatoes)
6.5"x6.6" Watercolor on Paper
Before the summer is officially over, I wanted to do one more painting of tomatoes – by far, my favorite subject in the past summer months! In this painting, I enjoyed painting the reflection of the red tomatoes on the silver tray.

Yesterday evening, I spent a couple of very pleasant hours watching artist Susan Carlin painting a portrait on ustream.tv. For those who do not know Susan, she is an accomplished portrait artist in Texas, who has been very generous with her time and knowledge to show us how she goes about painting her beautiful portraits. Check out her blog for details and watch her painting next time – it’s magical!
