I found a huge magnolia tree in full bloom just around the corner from our house - stunning colors! I don't know the variety of these, but they are certainly different - the blooms looked more rounded than the ones I'm used to seeing around here....

So, I decided to set up a still-life in the warm sunshine on the patio... and this is what I ended up with. The warm colors reflect the warmth of this beautiful spring day in Switzerland.

A commom street scene around lunch time in Lyon, France, where you won't be disappointed with the food served to you... Lyon has the proud reputation of being the gastronomy capital of France - I, personally, think the title is very well deserved.

Another one of my little studies... this time I painted this proud rooster that I saw on the grounds of a chateau near my house... I love the colors of the feathers!

I missed painting these small studies I used to paint before.... I painted the above from a reference photo I took at the beautiful flower gardens of the Chateau de Crans pres Celigny when we were invited to visit the grounds, wine celars and the interior of the castle and had refreshments and wine at their beautiful yard with views of the vineyards, Lake Geneva, and the Alps.
