Red Currants

Red Currants
Watercolor on paper
Oh, the weather outside is frightful,But the fire is so delightful,And since we've no place to go,Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
There is a flurry of snow outside - although it is not sticking onto the ground it is beautiful to watch it fall.
Yesterday, I painted these bright red translucent berries to remind me of the warmer days of early fall, several months ago, when winter still seemed to be so far away. Somehow, the bright colors of the currants kept me warm and fuzzy throughout....
I hope you are all having very happy holidays!

I came for those wonderful peppers and found this! Delightful, (both paintings)Theresa, and glad to see you working up a storm in competition with the weather!

The currant is so beautiful. And warm and summerish. And a piece of art.

Just beautiful capturing of the translucency of the currants. I am now craving jelly...

Theresa, these currents are just yummy. Your mingling of colors in the shadows are so lovely. I like the cropping of the still life -- very effective.

This is beautiful. You really get a sense of the lusciousness. I love the colors in the shadow, too.
