Black Eye Susan at the Chateau de Prangins

I walked to the the gardens of the Chateau de Prangins the other day and saw beautiful Black Eye Susan in full bloom. Aside from the the beautiful flowers and fruit trees, the gardens at the chateau grow old fashioned vegetables from the 18th century. I hear that they serve the food they grow right there in the chateau restaurant. I must make a reservation and have a 18th century meal there, one of these days. How very lovely, Theresa! And a nice surprise to have a painting so soon after the other one. I grew up with blacked-eyed Susans in a very unstructed garden. I remember myself at five years of age, eating peas from the pod in the garden, and these flowers were just growing in between the veggies.
Hi Marie! Thank you! Yes, I was very inspired to paint, and now that Alexandra is in school, I have no more excuses - I've been painting every day and loving it!
You are so lucky to have these flowers in your garden growing up, they are so easy to grow, I hear, but I had never seen them before moving the the US in my early 20's. I did not know that children liked peas of any sort - cooked or fresh! Your are SO healthy!
