Harvest

Harvest
10" x 15" Watercolor on paper
I love this time of summer when the sunflowers are blooming and the wheat is ripe and being harvested. There is a sense of bounty and richness everywhere. This field of bound up hay is just around the corner from my house. Can you see the Alps in the background?

You really live in a lovely place, Theresa, having all this around the corner and THE REAL ALPS in the background! Nice warm painting!

I love this piece, Theresa, and it reminds me of a trip two years ago that I took with Mike Bailey for an art vacation in the Dordogne. Our lovely old French farmhouse was surrounded by sunflowers and the farm next door had just hayed. Many paintings that we created included the bales. You have captured the essense of the farmland and surrounding countryside.
