Geneva Morning by Theresa Miller

Geneva Morning
7" x 15" Watercolor on paper
I just finished painting this street scene of old town Geneva, I hope you like it. I found painting people very difficult, but the more I paint them, the more I like it. I find that it gives the paintings more movement and soul. These two guys were going up the hill in such a hurry that I wondered what the deal was.... morning rush hour, I guess...

Hi, Theresa. There's is definitely a lot of movement and soul in this painting! I love the shadows and flickering sunlight on the wall. I also like the deep pinks on the shirt in the right.

I just joined your blog. I love this picture. I "attempted" to watercolor for the first time after studying a book-It is much more difficult than you would think. I commend you! Andrea

Beautifully done, Theresa. You really captured the people with your gesture painting. Have you seen the street scenes done by Trevor Lingard? http://trevorlingard.blogspot.com/
He loves to paint lots of people into the scenes and I am going to watch his online videos for a few more tips.

Hi Theresa
I like this very much.
It has lots of reflecting light going on.
I think the figures bring life to your paintings. I look forward to seeing more like this. Regards
