This is the last week of summer vacation before our daughter goes back to school as a second grader -time flies when we are having a good time. The air is crisp and cool and I can feel the autumn coming. Soon our apples in the backyard will be ready to be picked – maybe I will be able to make a few apple pies. The apples in my painting today come from the store, though. I hope you like it!

I really enjoyed painting this garlic. I loved putting all those different colors on the thin garlic skin and still "see" it white.

Here is my second take on the "harvest" of tomatoes from my potted tomato plants. Let's see how many I can paint - hopefully many because there are lots of them ripening in my sun drenched terrace, right now.

It's been a busy and pleasurable Summer for us in Geneva with lots of activities with our daughter. It is also a pleasure to get a window of opportunity to paint in between these activities.

I have 3 tomato plants (cherry, regular and yellow) in planters on my terrace and they are doing very well, with lots of tomatoes ripening in the sun. They taste delicious and they are perfect "models" for my Summer paintings... I hope you like my first painting from a series of tomato paintings I would like to do this summer.

I showed this painting, along with many others, at the WTO - World Trade Organization show in 2007 and it is now hanging in my atelier. I decide to post it because I haven't had much of chance to paint these days. With my 11-year-old daughter on vacation, we are always on the go, enjoying the outdoors and having very little time for painting. Well, I do have a couple of small paintings I'm working on, so I shall be posting them soon.

When in season, you can find cardon stalks being sold in grocery stores all over town in Geneva. You can also find them pickled so that you can savor them all year round. It's a region delicacy. I found this beautiul bloom at the Botanical Gardens in Geneva, a few weeks ago, and fell in love with it.

My daughter has been on Summer vacation and, therefore, I have not been painting and posting as often. We have been busy having fun - hiking, biking, swimming, travelling, making wonderful memories.... I shall go back to posting on a regular basis in the fall when she goes back to school - as a middle schooler! Meanwhile, I shall post whenever I get a chance to paint in between our comings and goings. I hope you are all having a great summer!

These were really delicious cherries! They came from the store because our cherry tree in the backyard does not seem to have produced any this year. Most probably, the cold weather during the flowering season was harmful to the fruits...
